Nothing is one of the youngest (yet popular) players in the smartphone space. Founded in 2020 by Carl Pei (co-founder of OnePlus), the company had no problem securing early funds with investments from iPod inventor Tony Fadell, Reddit CEO Steve Huffman, and even YouTuber Casey Neistat. Today, Nothing has made quite a brand with its design-led seamless products including the Nothing Phone() and the Nothing Ear (). Nothing launched its first product, the Ear (1) on 27 July 2021. With an affordable price tag of $99 and a unique transparent design, they became an instant hit among tech enthusiasts. Their Phone (1) performed even better garnering huge demand from consumers looking for something fresh. The company is well versed in marketing and often generates lots of 'hype' around its upcoming products by posting cryptic teasers on social media. CEO Pei has also garnered quite the following after openly sharing his opinions about other Tech products on YouTube. Nothing in Nepal As CG has entered the scene, it is the official distributor of Nothing products in Nepal. We have now Nothing Phone (2) and Nothing Phone (2a) in the house with quite some good hype. The brands will continue bringing new products as soon as they are released.
Nothing has poured its resources to a single series of smartphones under the moniker Phone(). The Nothing Phone (1) launched in March of 2022, made headlines with its transparent design and unique Glyph Interface. Phone (2) followed suit, polishing the edges and shipping with a faster processor, better cameras, and larger screen/battery- though with a higher price tag. Being a small company, it is safe to assume Nothing won't be releasing multi-series smartphones like some other manufacturers. But what it lacks in quantity, it more than makes up for in style points.
Despite being young, Nothing has piqued the interest of Nepalese buyers as well. The buzz ignited by Phone (1) was only amplified by Phone (2). Though Phone (1) was slightly overpriced on launch (in Nepal), it is a much more appealing deal today. Meanwhile, the Phone (2) and Phone 2a are also priced at a bit higher side. All in all, the future will look bright for the company if they do the pricing right in a price-sensitive market like Nepal.
